The Flayed Ones are one of the most horrifying and tragic manifestations of the Necrons’ curse—a degenerate offshoot of their kind, driven mad by an insatiable hunger for flesh. Once ordinary Necron warriors, they were infected by the Flayer Virus, a lingering taint left behind by the shattered C’tan known as Llandu’gor, the Flayer. This affliction twists their programming and warps their minds, compelling them to flense the skin from living victims and drape it over their metallic frames in a grotesque parody of life. Rejected and feared even by their own kind, Flayed Ones phase into battle from the shadows of the Warp, tearing their prey apart with razor claws and maddened laughter. To their victims, they are nightmares made real; to their fellow Necrons, they are a shameful reminder of the price of their soulless immortality. They are hunger without reason, horror without end.
