Derbyshire Wildlife Trust has been awarded The Wildlife Trusts’ Dame Mary Smieton Award, a national honour recognising outstanding commitment to fairness, inclusion, and empowering communities to lead nature’s recovery. The award celebrates the Trust’s ongoing work to ensure people are at the heart of community-driven projects to shape nature-rich, accessible spaces across Derbyshire. From rewilding Allestree Park and the creation of a Green Corridor in Derby City Centre, to bringing landowners and communities together to inspire nature-led approaches in the Wild Peak.
