Mushroom Murder Case: Erin Patterson Convicted of Killing Her In-Laws | This Morning

It had all the makings of a Hollywood thriller. Erin Patterson, in 2023, invited her in-laws over for a seemingly innocent Beef Wellington meal. But when, within hours, all four guests fell gravely ill - three of them fatally - it was discovered the lunch had been laced with deadly death cap mushrooms. Patterson claimed it was all a terrible accident, but the court convicted her of triple murder. Today, her sentence is being handed down and we’re joined by court reporter Wayne Flower and criminologist Professor David Wilson for their reaction to the trial that has shocked the world.
