Today, we're announcing our commitment to The Great Refactor—a national initiative to secure America's critical infrastructure by converting vulnerable open-source codebases to memory-safe languages. Memory management vulnerabilities in C/C++ code cost our nation over $2 billion annually and account for 70% of critical exploits. We're contributing by refactoring dnsmasq—a widely deployed DNS utility embedded in routers and IoT devices worldwide—from C to Rust. Our approach: Deep codebase ingestion, comprehensive documentation, automated refactoring with thousands of AI agents, full compilation and testing—delivering the quantum work autonomously while ensuring feature parity and code quality.
