https://www.buymeacoffee.com/TJH3113 First, a word from our sponsor. I’m going to be hanging out in the Zero-Mod booth at the “Guitar and Bass Expo” in Wyomissing, PA on Saturday, August 19th. I’ll be playing along live to some of my favorite songs, on some of my favorite, Zero-Mod equipped, basses. It’ll be just like my channel - except with the potential for mistakes! Admission is free and, I understand, they are running shuttle busses from NYC and Philadelphia to the show. http://www.guitarandbassexpo.com / guitarandbassexpo http://www.zero-mod.com I think my wife is trying to kill me. Last night, we went to see Donald Fagen and the Nightfliers. He played some of my favorite songs off of one of my all time favorite albums, The Nightfly. One point of interest is that his band is comprised of a group of young local (Hudson Valley) guys who really kicked ass. Tonight, we're off to see The Fixx in NYC (which is why you get this cover). And Monday is Earth, Wind, and Fire, also in NYC. I'm starting to feel as though I'm on tour. The song is a re-do of "One Thing Leads To Another" by The Fixx which is off of their album, "Reach The Beach" and came out in 1983. The bass was played by Alfie Agius who left the band partway through the recording of the album. Replacement, and current bassist, Dan K. Brown recorded the remaining songs and still tours with the band. I really like the way he plays and the bass lines he comes up with. I think our styles are not too dissimilar in that I tend to play a bit rigidly and mathematically. I also admire him because, next to him, I look like a literal dynamo of enthusiasm on stage…well, our difference in stage presence may not be that great but you get the idea. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the re-do of one of my favorite Fixx songs and I’ll have something to commemorate the EW&F show as well. I’m playing the Wal MK2 and even throw in a rare ad-lib. See if you can spot it (it's not terribly subtle). Talk to you later.
