Welcome to #EdLeighsMoneySavingSnowTips | Ep 32 | Scotland Scotland is an awesome place to ski and snowboard, especially if you’ve only ever been to the Alps. You’ll find amazing people, a truly beautiful and unique landscape, and potentially great skiing and snowboarding, though you’ll need to keep an open mind about the weather, and if possible be flexible about when you can travel. Each of the five resorts has their own charm and reasons to ride or ski there. Cairngorm Mountain is the most famous and usually the most snowsure with great touring opps. Its beginner area with rail features is open already with more snow on the way. The resort uses biofuel power, and their first timer tips including advising you to car share to get there. Glencoe has insane natural terrain and amazing views. Heavy snow has filled in the lower runs at Glencoe this week ahead of their opening this weekend. Glenshee is big and scores high on variety of terrain (it has a great snow park too). It is opening on 21st December. And the webcam is showing snowy slopes already. Lecht is a top choice for families and beginners. It is opening its nursery slopes this weekend, and plans to open fully on 21st December. Nevis Range is a good crowd beater as its access roads get less snarled up by snow traffic after a big dump. It’s due to open on Monday. Lastly, while we’re on the topic of UK shred, don’t forget about all the domes and indoor snow centres, which often have great deals at this time of year. They’re also a sweet option to get some lessons and your snow legs back before your main trip, be that to the Alps or Scotland if you’ve been inspired by what you read today. Castleford has a three hours for the price of one offer. Chill Factore in Manchester has a massive midweek lesson sale. Hemel has some good early bird passes for Tuesdays and Sundays. That’s it for this week but please do let me know your Scottish shred tips and advice, and I’d love to hear about your experience riding or skiing in Scotland and post any pictures you have too. Cheers Ed! #edleighsmoneysavingsnowtips #edsnowtips
