The Noctua NH-P1 is a gigantic, passive CPU cooler, suitable for dead silent systems. If you want better performance you can install the recommended 120mm fan (NF-A12x25 LS). This is a high-quality, low-speed PWM fan using a fluid dynamic bearing which Noctua calls SSO2. Its blades feature flow acceleration channels, and the frame is optimized for lower noise output. With 1200 RPM max speed, the fan's noise is kept low under all conditions, so it is the ideal match for the P1 cooler. 💥💥 Testing Methodology 💥💥 I use a fully automated, custom-made CPU cooler testing station to apply any load from 1W to 500W. In the first set of tests, I didn't use any active cooling, while in the next set of sets, I installed the 120mm NF-A12 fan to check how the cooler performs with a low volume of airflow, which keeps noise output at minimal levels. Do note that I only consider the delta differences between the cooler's block and the ambient temperature in our lab, kept close to 25 degrees Celsius, where the test system is installed. 💥💥 Bottom Line 💥💥 If you are after top performance and want high overclocks, the Noctua NH-P1 is NOT for you. This is Noctua's first passive cooler, destined for users wishing to build super quiet systems. If you need slightly increased performance, keeping noise output as low as it gets, Noctua suggests using an NF-A12x25 LS fan, which doesn't output more than 15 dBA noise even at full speed. The chassis choice you will use along with the P1 cooler requires careful consideration, and the ambient temperature is equally important. There is a list of recommended cases on Noctua's site. You will also find two more lists, once with the supported CPUs and another one with the compatible mainboards. I suggest you take a good look at these lists before you buy this product, else you might not be able to use it, and this will be a great shame, given its stiff price. The fan that Noctua suggests for this cooler also doesn't come cheap, costing close to 30 euros or dollars. All in all, this behemoth cooler manages to offer decent performance without the need for active cooling. Whether this meets your needs, is of course, up to you and the CPU that you want to cool down. One thing is for sure, this cooler is not for bottom-low temperatures and high clocks, even with a fan attached. Pros 👍 • Zero noise output • Outstanding performance per noise ratio • Top build quality • Impressive design • Great mounting system • The Torx screwdriver required to install it is provided in the bundle • 6-year warranty Cons 👎 • Expensive • Mediocre performance even with a (silent) fan installed • Huge dimensions • Not compatible with all CPUs, chassis, and mainboards #HardwareBustersInternational #Noctua #Cooler 💘 If you find our content helpful, please subscribe to our channel. https://www.youtube.com/HardwareBuste... 🔔 If you enjoyed this video and you want to help others to enjoy it as well, please support us by adding captions in your native language https://www.youtube.com/timedtext_vid... 🏁 Share this video with your friends: • For a DEAD SILENT PC!
