Jason Walsmith performs his original song “The Visitor” live at Live From the Gilded Palace. “The Visitor” is a song about travel, human connection and the kindness of strangers encountered along the journey. Jason wrote the song as a bon voyage tribute for his friend Charlie Wittmack before Charlie departed to compete in The World Triathlon - an extraordinary global endurance challenge that reflects adventure, perseverance and the spirit of exploration. Jason performed a live-stream concert on February 4, 2026, presented by Live From the Gilded Palace. A founding member and principal songwriter of The Nadas, Jason brought decades of storytelling, road-tested songs and heartfelt performances to the intimate Gilded Palace listening room. Known as a self-described “racontourist,” Jason blends lived experience, travel and humor into narrative-driven songwriting that reflects the resilience and joy of a life spent chasing music. This performance marked Jason’s second appearance at The Palace, continuing the series dedicated to showcasing Iowa and Midwest folk, roots and acoustic artists. 👉 Learn more about Jason Walsmith: https://jasonwalsmithstoryteller.com/ / jasonwalsmithstoryteller https://www.jasonwalsmith.com/ https://jasonwalsmith.substack.com/ 👉 Read ESPN reporter Wayne Drehs’ feature on Charlie Wittmack: https://www.espn.com/espn/eticket/wor...
