Hong Kong's national security crackdown has widened. New censorship laws have been passed, banning films deemed a threat to national security. The government has insisted the move will not affect the industry, but critics said it could stifle creativity and freedom of expression in the city's renowned film industry. Anyone who shows an unlicensed movie faces up to a maximum of three years' imprisonment and a HK$1 million ($130,000) fine.
