Working on STAR WARS Rogue One at the black hanger. Behind the Scenes of Star Wars Rogue One | Set Sculptor’s Story | Black Hangar & Pinewood Studios In 2015, I worked as a sculptor on Star Wars: Rogue One at the Black Hangar in Basingstoke and Pinewood Studios. This video shares my personal behind-the-scenes experience building iconic Star Wars film sets, including Saw Gerrera’s base and the Rock Planet landing zone. As part of a team of five sculptors, we carved massive rock formations from polystyrene, working long days and nights under intense deadlines with full blue-screen environments. I also worked on prisoner cells, catacombs, pillars, and exterior set features before moving to Pinewood Studios, where I saw a full-scale X-Wing fighter up close. Star Wars has been a huge part of my life — both my parents worked on the original films, and I grew up visiting legendary sets like Yoda’s swamp and the Millennium Falcon. Rogue One was my first Star Wars movie to work on, and remains my favourite of the Disney era.
