In September of 1981 in Bavaria, Germany, 10 year old Ursula Hermann was abducted while riding her bike near a forest in her hometown. A large ransom was requested by the kidnappers but after they stopped communicating with the family, a search of the forest located a buried wooden box with a seat, toilet, bench, books, food, water, radio, light and the lifeless body of Ursula. She had died very early into the crime as there was inadequate oxygen exchange due to air pipes being clogged with wet leaves. Police spent 2 decades building a case and finally charged a local man with the crime. The charges and conviction were highly controversial and to this day many think a killer is out there. His DNA showed up at a separate crime scene in 2006 and it wasn't the DNA of the man convicted of Ursula's crime.
