SOS Children's Villages in The Gambia Women Empowerment Project in Farafenni.

In 2018, SOS Children’s Villages in The Gambia through support from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Finland implemented 3 years project in Farafenni that aim to empower women in Farafenni. In Farafenni the women empowerment project supported (200 women-headed households and 555 children) in 3 communities to empower and promotion of women's and children's rights. The project was also focused on building the capacities of these 200 single women on women and children's rights and supporting them to venture into business so that they will be able to support themselves and their families, especially their children.
