Ludhiana Ferozepur Road Jam | Woman Dies After Speeding Innova Hits Her | Family Protests for Justice A tragic road accident in Ludhiana, Punjab has led to massive protests after a 48-year-old woman lost her life following a collision with a speeding Toyota Innova car. The incident caused a major traffic jam on Ludhiana–Ferozepur Road near MBD Mall, where angry family members and locals staged a protest demanding immediate action against the accused driver. According to reports, the deceased has been identified as Surinder Kaur, a resident of village Baddowal in Ludhiana district. She worked as a security guard at Mediwave Hospital. The accident occurred while she was crossing the road after finishing her duty and waiting for a bus to go home. Eyewitnesses and family members claim that a speeding Innova car, reportedly moving at around 80 km/h, hit Surinder Kaur with great force. After the collision, the driver fled the scene, leaving the injured woman on the road. The entire incident was captured on nearby CCTV cameras. Locals immediately rushed Surinder Kaur to a nearby hospital for treatment, but unfortunately she died during treatment due to her severe injuries. The victim is survived by two children, and her sudden death has left the family devastated. Adding to the tragedy, the family revealed that her son had just returned from abroad and was about to meet his mother, but the heartbreaking accident took her life before they could reunite. Angered by the delay in the arrest of the accused driver, family members and residents blocked the Ludhiana–Ferozepur Road and staged a protest, demanding justice and strict action against the driver. They alleged that despite the CCTV evidence, the police had not taken strong action so far. A family member, Hardeep Singh, said the accident occurred on March 5, and the speeding Innova hit his sister-in-law Surinder Kaur violently. He also alleged that the vehicle may belong to an influential person, which is why action has been delayed. Meanwhile, the investigating officer Umesh Singh confirmed that the incident took place on March 5 while the woman was crossing the road. Police said that efforts are ongoing to trace the driver and legal action will be taken based on the investigation. The incident has sparked outrage in the area, with many people demanding road safety measures, strict traffic enforcement, and justice for the victim’s family.
