The Jesus and Mary Chain - Reverence (Live on The Word)
Reverence was the first single from the The Jesus and Mary Chain's album Honey's Dead. It was released by Blanco y Negro Records in February 1992 and reached #10 in the UK single charts. Reverence, attracted some controversy for the lyrics "I want to die just like Jesus Christ", and "I want to die just like JFK". As a result it was banned by Top of the Pops, however the track received plenty of airplay in the United States on the alternative radio stations. This video shows JAMC perform the song live on the 1990's music show The Word.
