The Unseen Beginning of “Heavenly Daze” (aka the Only Good Part from “Bedlam in Paradise”)

This was another scene in the Three Stooges filmography that I was interested in doing a screen recording of. The episode this clip is from is “Bedlam in Paradise”, which is a remake of “Heavenly Daze”. Whenever I looked back on this scene, I always thought that it served as a perfect beginning for “Heavenly Daze”, in large part because it offered foreshadowing towards the fact that Shemp died and later haunted Moe & Larry. Basically, it gave great context towards those aspects of the plot. As for “Bedlam in Paradise”, that’s another remake I’m not particularly fond of. The new beginning of it was brilliant, but the rest…not so much. I did not enjoy any of the new scenes with Philip Van Zandt as the Devil, and the episode’s frequent use of stock footage caused it to be less-than-engaging. It definitely wasn’t as fun as “Heavenly Daze”, that’s for sure.
