Owners and managers of multifamily apartment complexes, Contractors, furniture and home improvement retailers; insurance companies and banks have united around the Housing Industry Foundation to help people remain in or find stable housing in the Bay Area. Our Emergency Housing Fund provides short term grants to help families stay in their homes during a time of crisis. Through our affordable housing Initiative, HIF partners with owners of multifamily apartment complexes to secure units that can be offered below market rate to qualified applicants, providing affordable housing within thirty minutes of their workplace. In support of local non-profits, our renovation program provide much needed improvements at no cost to the agency. For every dollar invested, we leverage at least two to three dollars of in-kind support. Housing Industry Foundation has prevented over 20 000 individuals from experiencing homelessness since 1989. All donations that HIF receive, sustain our programs and help to support more and more families, year over year.
