Unbeknownst to air dealer, I've been planning this video loooong before they started the daily count. Appreciate the enthusiasm though. My history with Classic Red is weird. I've used him extensively. Most notably I made a video about him carrying F2P units long before they got grid updates. I'm not suuuper content with that video nowadays, but the concept holds up: • Carrying Scrubs 201: Using 1/5 Red & Snorl... I think Red has an exceptionally strong 1/5 kit, so much so I kept him at base for half a year and was perfectly content. However, DeNA reran Red in Gauntlet banners sporadically. I happened to get lucky enough to pull copies on dailies. At 3/5 it's a "might as well" situation, so I EX'd Red. Red is really good because he can grant Supereffective Up Next to an ally. He happens to buff Crit and not much else, but really, SE Next hard carries the kit. Off-Type Red is perfectly valid, but, much like Off-Type Anniversary Raihan, I think it's silly to waste such a potent multiplier. 3/5 Red's utility expands with the 6*EX Support buff and Adrenaline 1. Safety Net is also cool since it makes Red into a very strong pick for off-region Extreme Battles. Regarding Red's Lucky Skill, I genuinely believe Head Start 1 improves Red's tiering tenfold. With the entry sync countdown he can use his Trainer Move twice to achieve a ramp. It makes his sequences so deliciously dynamic. [0:00] - Only 90's kids remember this upgrade screen [0:22] - Striker Meme I was just about ready to prepare this video, but Aura Cynthia got datamined. Fighting Zone makes Striker Red a lot more convincing so I felt obliged to wait until I got my hands on it. Red's most powerful attack is MAX Knuckle because he can enhance it with his own SE Next. The problem is that Red needs some hefty Atk support to humor the bomb. I also wanted to take this opportunity to showcase the Forbidden Striker Aura Cynthia(tm) meme I held off from her video because it was too gimmicky... but Cynthia herself needs Sp.Atk Support. At current it's nigh impossible to find a sync pair who buffs +6 Atk and Sp.Atk at Red's ramping pace. Liza and Falkner come to mind of course, but in testing I found that I also needed Crit. Long story short, I ended up with Classic Giovanni with Trainer Move MPR 2. The RNG needed for an optimal battle was a little rough but the outcome is pretty funny. [2:28] - Budget example This is how I've been playing Red since the dawn of time so might as well include it in this video. Optimally you want to pair SE Next with a field effect for very big attacks, but SE Next alone is enough for decent nukes. Red pre-sync clears typically demand auxiliary Support because Red usually has to fix "bad" Strikers with a subpar buffing efficiency. In this case I brought Maylene who buffs Atk for both Bruno and Red while completing Red's Crit buffs. Oh noooo I brought a second Support like Aura Cynthia wants sometimes. Guess that means Red is bad. [4:38] - Fixing DPS 6*EX Red uniquely enables heavy DPS Strikers. He gives you the role compression of a 6*EX Support buff to fit a field effect on the third slot. [6:35] - Fixing Nukes SE Next is such a funny multiplier you can use it to boost virtually any sync move. Ethan here is not traditionally lauded for his sync move (or at all really), but SE Next makes it look competent. Also I get to show Red's Potion efficiency which combats Glacia's AoE spam so Ethan can cast Eruption at full potency. [8:46] - Ramp + Paralysis Red has inherently good play with sync accelerators since he contributes to ramps with his Trainer Move and Adrenaline 1. I also wanted to show Red can enable Paralysis Synergy and Dirty Fighting, although at this pace I only managed to Paralyze center. SS Cynthia is a good example of a Striker who ramps and needs Paralysis. The problem is that she is too busy to buff Sp.Atk, so I needed a second Support to help out. Cheryl worked pretty well for defensive Support and Normal Theme Skills to turn Snorlax into a chonker. [11:00] - Gladion Bestie Channel regulars will remember "The Normalizers" i.e. Red and Gladion combo. Gladion almost always lands supereffective damage, which pairs well with Red's own SE Next focus. The problem is that Gladion needs Crit support, and Red is not the most efficient at it. Contrary to common belief I think Gladion + Red is pretty meh unless you bring extra Support for Gladion to kickstart his offense. ----- The Eggmon Compendium: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1k...
