Today, a Bredasdorp fire truck rolled down an embankment while responding to a difficult veldfire, resulting in injuries to two firefighters who have been hospitalised. Despite the incident, firefighting teams continue their efforts to control the blaze, with gratitude expressed to all involved. Hot to very hot weather dominates the rest of South Africa, with extremely high fire danger warnings for the western Northern Cape and northwestern Western Cape. No impact-based warnings have been issued by SAWS, but very hot and uncomfortable conditions will affect the interior of the Namakwa and the West Coast of the Western Cape Province.
