--- On a windy day, it was uncomfortable inside this old walls. There was a creaking noise everywhere and sometimes things kept falling to the floor. Karl Sigismund von Zeydlitz and Leipe actually reformed the school system during the Prussian era that way it is until today. He introduced schools based on ability and examinations for admission to higher schools. ______________________________________ 00:00 - Intro 00:33 – Filmstart / Start 00:44 – Drohnenaufnahmen / Drone shots 02:53 – Außenansichten / Exterior views 04:04 – Eingangsportal / Entrance portal 05:17 – Innenbereich ohne Dach / Interior without roof 06:37 – Innenbereich „NOCH“ mit Dach / Interior “STILL” with roof 10:09 – Wo befindet sich diese Palastruine / Where is this palace ruin located 11:00 – Informationen zur Geschichte / History information You can find the English version of the history about this ruin in the video description. ____________________________________ Diese Ruine wurde sogar als psychiatrische Klinik verwendet: Palastruine der Familie Hoffmann in Schlesien - • Palastruine der Familie Hoffmann in S... The first known head of the village was Gunzelinus de Seydlicz. The village belonged to the von Seydlicz family for over two centuries. Through marriage, the village became the property of the Barons von Zedlitz and Leipe family and remained in their possession until the end of the Second World War. The castle in Kapsdorf was built in 1735 by Karl Sigismund von Zeydlitz and Leipe. This palace complex also included an English park of sentimental character from the end of the 19th century. I was unable to locate this park during my visit. The palace is a three-story building. The building was originally built in the Baroque style. In the portal above the entrance there are coats of arms in the cartouche of Baron Karl Sigismund von Zeydlitz and Leipe (left) and his wife Eleonora, née von Czettritz and Neuhaus (right). The whole thing is decorated with a woven relief of flower and vase motifs. The Zedlitz coat of arms with the year it was built in 1796, which was also above the entrance, is unfortunately no longer preserved. The palace was spared major damage during the war. The decline only began after the fall of communism in 1989. Interesting is also… Baron Karl von Zedlitz made a career in Berlin and was Minister of Justice from 1770. He went down in history as the minister responsible for educational reform in Prussia. This reform remained the model for all of Europe for a long time. He was the first to make education accessible to a broad mass of society and, for the first time, according to the respective possibilities. I.e. he introduced elementary schools, city schools, secondary schools and universities. The introduction of school-leaving exams was the highlight of the edict of December 23, 1788. If successful, this school-leaving exam entitles students to begin studying. ___ VLOG – P 009
