When I got my Atomos Shogun I found it was really difficult to produce consistent LUTs to monitor the footage with, and most videos that focused on making LUTs only showed you how to get a colour grade out of whatever software you were using. Since there wasn't very much focus on the technical aspect of LUT design I decided to think up my own process that would allow me to predict how a LUT would behave once on the monitor without the guess work of loading it, using it and revising it. I recently decided to use that process to match my F-log fuji XT-3 footage to some Ektar film and was happy with the results. I doubt this process is at all novel, and I am by no means a colourist, but it works for me so I figured I'd share it.
