Join us as we launch our new report into women’s lived experiences of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) initiatives in the Scottish media and culture sectors. Our report, researched and written by Dr Fiona McKay, Prof Meryl Kenny, Melody House and Talat Yaqoob, dives into the experiences of women working in media and culture who have taken part in EDI initiatives, before making recommendations on the ways in which organisations can improve their EDI programmes and therefore create more equitable and diverse workplaces for women. We hear from two of the report researchers before moving on to a panel discussion with Talat Yaqoob, Dr Fiona McKay, Victoria Bennett and Nazli Tabatabai-Khatambakhsh. Speakers: Katie Goh, Project Manager at the Equal Media and Culture Centre for Scotland Dr Fiona McKay, researcher and lecturer in Journalism at the University of Strathclyde Talat Yaqoob, campaigner, researcher and founder of Pass the Mic Scotland Victoria Bennett, award-winning disabled poet, author, full-time carer and founder of Wild Women Press Nazli Tabatabai-Khatambakhsh, Associate Director at Sanctuary Queer Arts and Opera Libretto Find out more about EMCC: https://emcc.engender.org.uk/
