The thunderstorm has been threatening for the better part of an hour now, and it's only in the last few moments that you have noticed a steadily increasing frequency of raindrops flicking the nearby leaves, creating a natural dance in the underbrush. Your chocobo gives out a quiet chirp as it looks up briefly, anticipating the coming rain, as well. It would do well to find cover soon, and you are far from any shelter; it would do no good to be caught in a rainstorm tracking down your hunt mark. A few minutes searching finds you a hollowed tree, its massive trunk still strong enough to create a temporary roof as protection from the elements. You pull your chocobo into the interior, and the wet mud gives way to a soft soil beneath a heavy layer of dead leaves that crunch beneath your boots as you tether the chocobo to a root jutting from the floor. You walk back to the dry threshold, leaning up against the ancient bark, taking in the view of nature's dance. The rain is coming down hard now. The smell of wet grass, soil, and the ever subtle scent of decaying plants is a powerful musk in the air. Lightning rakes across the sky between the heavy branches far above as the storm pushes through the wood. It feels like chaos at first; branches waving in the sudden gusts, heavy streams of water pouring down from the curtains of rain, the ground sputtering in muddy haphazardness... But there is a beauty in it. The dance continues, and there is a pattern to all the madness. Your gaze lingers on the view a moment longer before you turn back inward toward your chocobo and setting up a campfire to settle in for the night. The dance is unmistakable in its serenity.
