Finally experience our exclusive tour of San Francisco's brand-new Salesforce Transbay Transit Center, three months after its grand opening and subsequent turbulent history thus far. Less than two months before its opening on August 12, 2018, the Salesforce Transit Center was forced to close after the discovery of two major cracks in the beams supporting the rooftop park. Nevertheless, we visited the transit center before its closure occurred, and now we have compiled the footage to bring you a little walk-around of the entire transit center on all floors. The first floor is still largely incomplete, but the central concourse is fully open, which is the first thing seen in this video. The second floor is simply the Greyhound waiting area; the third floor is for all Transbay buses and MUNI's Line 25 to Treasure Island; and the fourth floor is the magnificent rooftop park the Salesforce Transit Center has become known for. The entire transit center took eight years to build, and in the future it could house underground tunnels for CalTrain, BART (in the form of a second transbay tube), and high-speed rail. For now, it is still the largest transit center west of the Misissippi, and despite its early closure it should serve San Francisco well for many years to come.
