Empowering Farmers in Liberia

Farmers in Liberia face an uphill battle. Limited access to finance, infrastructure, and technology, coupled with harsh weather conditions, make farming a challenging endeavor. The dry season, with its scorching heat and water scarcity, poses a particular threat to crop yields. USAID's Feed the Future program is providing irrigation systems for farmers so they can cultivate crops year-round, even during the driest months. Training workshops and demonstration sites equip farmers with the knowledge and skills to implement best practices, including the use of organic fertilizers and pesticides.
