🏛️ LIVE: Florida v. Dima Tower — Double Murder Trial — Day 2 Live coverage as Dima Tower stands trial for two counts of first-degree murder in the August 2023 stabbing deaths of his adoptive parents, Robbie and Jennifer Tower. Tower faces life in prison if convicted. The State alleges premeditated murder, claiming Tower brutally stabbed his parents before fleeing and leading police on an eight-hour manhunt. The defense offered a manslaughter plea for 40 years, which prosecutors rejected while demanding life in prison. This trial tests whether the State can prove premeditated murder beyond a reasonable doubt. Officers discovered Robbie Tower, 49, and Jennifer Tower, 51, dead inside their Mallicoat Road home with multiple stab wounds. Officers observed Dima Tower, then 21, covered in blood near a vehicle. When commanded to stop, Tower allegedly fled, leading police on a high-speed chase on Interstate 75. After deputies disabled his vehicle, Tower fled on foot into a wooded area, sparking an eight-hour manhunt before his capture. The Towers had adopted Dima from a Ukrainian orphanage in 2016 when he was 14. The missionary couple treated him as their own son. However, police records show domestic disturbances dating to 2018. In 2020, Dima was arrested for battery after allegedly striking Robbie Tower, though charges were eventually dropped. Family members later reported that Robbie slept with his door locked out of fear. Tower is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and fleeing the scene. The death penalty is not being sought. The jury must determine whether the State proves premeditated murder beyond a reasonable doubt or whether the evidence supports manslaughter, second-degree murder, or reasonable doubt as to guilt. 📂 PLAYLISTS & RESOURCES ► Full Trial Live Broadcasts: • FL v.
