$4tn superannuation industry faces more enforcement action, says ASIC chair Joe Longo | ABC News

The corporate watchdog has launched legal action against Cbus alleging the super fund failed to process more than 10,000 death and disability claims in a reasonable timeframe. ASIC chair Joe Longo says the regulator is focussed on fixing issues in the superannuation and insurance sectors. He also rejected criticism of the corporate watchdog outlined in a Senate Economics Committee report released by Andrew Bragg in July 2024. He said the regulator is tough enough and should not be split into two entities as per recommendations in the Bragg report.
