A miraculously preserved Seiko SQ from 1980. From a time when quartz was a selling point and the mechanical watch industry was all but dead. I found out this watch was made in January 1980 through using a handy online tool which can be found here https://retroseiko.co.uk/seiko-serial... What you need is the 6 digit serial number and the caliber number. The Serial number gives a month and the last digit of the year but it uses the movement inside to tell if it s 1981, 91 or 2001! You might be out of luck if its a caliber in use for decades though, then it will be your best guess as to the decade.
