This is, more or less, the core of Master Roshi’s character; he’s a portrait of the classic fighting master from old martial arts movies. Because people underestimate Master Roshi, he’s had a lot of awesome moments where he’s exceeded others’ expectations and shown them what he’s really made of. Moments like when he trained Goku and Krillin, when he won the World Martial Arts Tournament and all of his surprising victories in the Tournament of Power.
