Artist Bio: Connecticut-based metal outfit 6five6 was originally founded in 2020 as the brainchild of bassist Rich Villalobos and guitarist Kai Stone, shortly after the two had met on Bandmix and started jamming together on a joke project. Spending the next couple of years refining their sound and settling on a solid lineup, the band has since gained a reputation as a rising powerhouse well outside of their regional base. With a sonic identity that builds on the foundations laid by metal legends from Slayer and Slipknot — whose work most of the band’s members have already interpreted as part of tribute act Slapknutz, the evolution of Rich and Kai’s joke project — to Exodus, Korn, Knocked Loose, As I Lay Dying and beyond, 6five6’s hard-hitting, cohesive signature sound has remained unmistakable across a host of gigs at local institutions to date.
