In this video we cover how to stop those messy oil leaks on the engine valve covers from old aged rubber grommets for the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve and other emission pipes / hoses seals as well at the oil filler tube and engine valve cover mounting bolts on GM trucks and vans of the Vortec V8 engine era. Some sources of these valve cover leaks can include valve cover mounting bolts that are no longer torqued properly, engine oil filler tubes that are not tightened properly into the valve cover, and emission tubes and PCV valve grommets that have hardened or cracked with age allowing engine oil blowback to occur. This video focuses on these latter two, most common, causes of valve cover engine oil leaks in particular. The vehicle illustrated is a 1998 Chevrolet Cheyenne, a GMT400 or old body style (OBS) truck design. But this video is applicable to any 1992 thru 2007 GM truck engines with these types of valve cover attachments.
