In this video two facial photos are converted to graphghan patterns using the Grid Designer. These graphghan charts were used to create pillow tops for 24 inch portrait pillows. See my blog post: https://www.freese-works.com/portrait..., for more information on how to construct the pillows. This video covers only the construction of the patterns for the pillow tops. Two new palettes containing a mix of different brands of worsted weight yarn are used to create the patterns. The first palette contains varying gray tones and the second palette contains varying sepia tones. The use of gray scale and sepia palettes greatly reduces the number of colors in the graphghan, making it easier work a pattern created from a photo. 00:00 - 00:17 music intro 00:17 - 00:40 Grid Designer intro 00:40 - 01:52 video intro 01:52 - 02:19 start the Grid Designer tool 02:19 - 04:21 load/crop first image 04:21 - 05:11 select gray scale palette 05:11 - 07:07 brighten first image 07:07 - 09:13 set gauge and sizing for pattern 09:13 - 09:49 set digitization type to smooth 09:49 - 12:49 reduce number of colors 12:49 - 19:44 clear out background 19:44 - 25:46 edit to reduce color changes 25:46 - 27:08 load/crop second image 27:08 - 28:02 select sepia palette, adjust brightness 28:02 - 28:30 sizing and digitization type 28:30 - 32:27 reduce colors 32:27 - 35:59 clear background 35:59 - 44:01 edit to reduce color changes 44:01 - 45:14 review of gray scale and sepia palettes 45:14 - 45:39 music ending Throw away your graph paper and get started with the Grid Designer!
