The US ambassador to Croatia, Peter Galbraith, is attempting to carry out negotiations between the two sides for a peaceful reintegration, and says the US is completely opposed to a military solution. Croatian troops have been moving to the border region and Eastern Slavonian Serb soldiers are deploying to face what they see as a threat. Buildings in cities on both sides are being sandbagged.
