My tribute to the most intimidating secondary of all time. SOUL PATROL consisted of: #26 LCB "Dr. Death" Skip Thomas #24 RCB Willie Brown #32/31 FS "The Assassin" Jack Tatum #43 SS "The Hitman" George Atkinson. Once Skip Thomas broke the starting lineup for good in 1974, the "Soul Patrol" lineup stayed that way until 1977. During that stretch, the Raiders had a record of 47 wins and 9 losses with the Soul Patrol secondary, and went to 4 straight AFC Championship Games, and Appeared in Superbowl XI. For their individual accomplishments, Willie Brown is in the Hall of Fame and known as one of the best ever. Skip Thomas was truly unique and almost uncoachable. Often known as the best athlete of the group and intercepted 6 passes twice in a season. Often would bat passes down rather than intercept them. Jack Tatum is most known for his vicious hits. Few, if any, could pack the kind of impact Jack Tatum delivered. Sadly, always linked to the unfortunate paralysis of Patriots WR Daryl Stingly. That cast him as cold hearted, etc... by the media and the sheeple still by it to this day. George Atkinson was a CB early in his career and a great punt returner. Moved to SS, Atkinson was the smallest SS in the NFL. However, George was flat out Nasty. However he could get you down, he would. His specialty would be "the hook." I also included some hits from Nmia Wilson, Tony Cline, and Charlie Phillips who filled in when anyone was injujred. Also, Nmia is who Dr. Death replaced. The apple didn't fall far from the tree when these subs got on the field. Sorry for the quality. This is like take 2 of a take 6 process but any take after 2, the audio would mess up and clips would vanish. I hoped to get more new footage and some footage of Willie Brown laying the wood on people but those clips just wouldn't work for some reason. Windows Movie Maker can be fickle.
