Usually the keyword doesn’t match search intent, the page is not strong enough to compete, or Google can’t index it properly. I start in Search Console, then I compare my page to the top search results and fix the gap. Q2 How do I know if my page is indexed? I check Search Console and inspect the exact URL. If it’s not in the index, I look for technical issues like noindex tags, redirects, canonical mistakes, or blocked crawling. Q3 What keyword should I target if my site is new? I go after long tail keyword phrases with clear intent and lower competition. This is the fastest way to improve ranking early while my overall SEO authority grows. Q4 What does “content isn’t good enough” mean for SEO? It usually means the page is too thin, too vague, or written for me instead of the user. I improve the structure, add missing sections, and make the answer clearer so the user experience is better. Q5 Do backlinks still affect ranking? Yes, especially for competitive keywords. Backlinks act like trust votes, but only when they’re relevant and earned. Spammy links can drag ranking down and create cleanup work. Q6 How many backlinks do I need to rank? I don’t chase a number. I check what the top ranking pages have, then I aim for fewer but better links from related sites, plus strong internal linking and on page optimisation. Q7 What on page optimisation matters most for ranking? Title, H1, and headings that match the keyword, plus a clean first paragraph that answers the query fast. I also tighten internal linking and remove fluff that hurts user experience. Q8 Can AI content rank in a search engine? Yes, but only if it’s genuinely helpful and edited for humans. If AI produces generic text, people bounce, and ranking tends to drop because the page does not satisfy intent. Q9 Why did my ranking go up, then drop again? Google tests pages in the search results. If the page doesn’t hold attention, or competitors update their SEO strategies, ranking can slip. I improve the weak section, then monitor in Search Console. Q10 How long does ranking take after I fix SEO issues? Some changes show movement in a few weeks, but stable ranking often takes longer depending on the keyword, competition, backlinks, and how often Google crawls and updates the index. 📞 Need help getting your marketing off the ground?
