Life before and after PlayStation. It feels fait accompli in retrospect. The bold moves Sony made from starting with a CD-ROM on day one to having a blank slate that Nintendo and Sega didn't have, as well as a deep bankroll and creative freedom for developers meant that it didn't take long for things to move in Sony's favor. Even from the very first year, several innovative and creative titles that sold well are still held in high regard today. One of the first unique titles, one that didn't rely on arcade conversions or an existing series, was Jumping Flash, a game that was very much ahead of its time and in some ways could be considered the first true PlayStation game. One that allowed Sony to set the tone for what to expect on the PlayStation. 3D movement, bright, bold colors, CG animation, awesome music with voiceovers, and unashamedly Japanese with that certain mixture of weird, cute, and funny that was rarely seen before. CMs provided by CGCM. Other things by Mister Walrus, Nappi Potamus, Innocent Sinful.
