An ascent of Ben Vorlich from Inveruglas at Loch Lomond, summit height at 943m (3093ft) NOT 948m as stated in the video. What can I say, my eyes weren't what they used to be! An extremely wet day managed to get wetter! This is the standard route of ascent to Ben Vorlich summit. Using the power station access road to the West face of Ben Vorlich and ascending via a path to the summit ridge. A short walk along the very broad ridge and the summit can be reached. This is a steep ascent from the side of the mountain and required a lot of stops for me! The path and route are good and fairly obvious in standard conditions. There are some boggy sections part of the way up but these weren't too bad and most of them could be bypassed by walking on the grass. The descent after lunch was of a fast nature. I think I was just eager to get out of the very wet clouds. This didn't take too long and wasn't as bad on the old knees as I originally thought. I would be keen to try this hill in winter, however, there is a couple of deep crevasses around the 2,500ft mark. This would put me off as this could easily be a danger to inexperienced winter walkers. (Me) Overall, a solid day, albeit extremely wet. Another Munro checked off the list and a little more experience gained in wet weather walking.
