Protecting our Heritage, Building our Future HELP BUILD THE CANADIAN TANK MUSEUM In July 2024, we proudly shared with you and the world that the Ontario Regiment Museum rebranded itself as the Canadian Tank Museum. This move solidified our museum's reputation on the national and international stage. A fair amount of progress has taken place in between then and now, which we will share with you today. We announced that we are planning and raising funds for the construction of a brand new, purpose-built museum building on the South Field lot here in Oshawa. This building will allow us to immersively display the largest collection of operating military vehicles in North America. Our world class collection is more than deserving of a world class building, but we need your help to accomplish this goal. In order to get there, we first need to begin raising funds to cover our initial setup costs. As you can imagine, planning for growth on this grand scale requires a world class team and support. I recently joined the Museum as Museum Development Officer, and will oversee this project as my prime focus. We have also solicited the services of Barry Bryan Associates, a local architectural and engineering firm whose portfolio of past work matches perfectly with our vision for our new museum building. To pay for these personnel and services, we have allocated funds from our Operating Fund and private donors, but we will require the support of our community to continue with our project. Today we are proud to announce the official launch of our capital expansion fundraising campaign. This campaign will be primarily focused on raising funds to facilitate the planning and construction of a new museum building on site. The new building will feature a combination of traditional galleries, spacious vehicle display, public programming and event spaces, and modern curatorial & administrative facilities. With our new mandate and strategic focus, we will provide a space to honourably represent the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps, its service members, their families, and our shared history. Through your support, we can protect our shared heritage and build our future home right here in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. As we kick off this campaign, we invite you to be some of the first supporters for this cause. Below you will find links to our fundraising pages, each with different goals and objectives. The first page is for our micro-donation sub-campaign, which are for one-time or recurring donations up to $100 CAD. The second page is for our larger sum donations, beginning at $100 with no limit on the total contribution value. These funds will be securely set aside for the construction of the new facility, building a base of funds.
