And here’s the series which the most demanding athletes would go for – The Fenix series have now been upgraded to version 6. Unboxing experience is great – doesn’t really differ much from other expensive brands – you can find the watch comfortably laying here, and the charging cable, and a user manual – and that’s pretty much it. The device that you see in the video is one of the many variations you can purchase – there are around 20 different variations, with different sizes, strap colors, kind of glass to choose from – and the most interesting now is the solar version. The build quality of the Fenix 6x is superb. It is so good that I can hardly find the right words to describe it, and it will be very, very hard to break this metal body. Of course this can be expensive – reaching 1000 bucks for the Pro solar edition with titanium bracelet. The screen is not touch, which perhaps implies some limitations, but eliminates to possibility to struggle when you are sweaty or when you use the watch in rain and winter days – remember – the Fenix watches are targeted at the most passionate athletes, where starting and stopping a tracking activity needs to happen seamlessly – without even taking a look at the watch. This is why the buttons are so big, and so comfortable. The thing I’ve always admired about the Fenix series is the awesome integration of what Garmin do best – the maps. The configuration items of each activity are almost countless. And the capabilities to measure your vitals – well – they are now so many, that probably each day for a long time you will discover something new. The Garmin Fenix 6 Pro includes a Body Battery feature which monitors your energy level throughout the day. This gives you an idea of how different activities impact you and your body. Also – you can count on enhanced smartness by the watch – having the Pace Pro feature, which can suggest different pacing strategies according to the terrain; No need to mention that it is waterproof and is perfect for swimmers. The smartphone app is the good old Garmin Connect app that you know for being used with the rest of the Garmin devices. Initial setup is very easy. And Garmin know that athletes love winning silverware – so you will be rewarded with a lot of badges for different achievements. If money is not your main priority and you lean towards the best sports smartwatch – the Genix 6 series are pushing the limits.
