Tannaz Beigi is an award-winning Iranian harpist and the first from her country to study at London’s Royal College of Music. Artist bio At age 15, she made history performing Boieldieu’s Harp Concerto with the Tehran Symphony Orchestra under Maestro Shahrdad Rohani—the first such performance in Iran since the revolution. She later performed Debussy’s Danses sacrée et profane and served as the orchestra’s principal harpist until 2021. Her international recognition includes First Prize at the Concours Français de la Harpe in France and Second Prize at Suoni D’arpa in Italy. At RCM, she won both the Harp and Concerto Competitions, leading to a performance of Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s Harp Concertino with the RCM Philharmonic. Tannaz has performed at major venues including the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Wigmore Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, and the Royal Albert Hall during the BBC Proms. As a featured soloist with the LGT Young Soloists, she has toured internationally, with highlights including a performance at Singapore’s Victoria Hall in an event attended by the Prime Minister of Singapore and Princess Isabelle of Liechtenstein. She has also had the honor of performing for the Emperor of Japan.
