In 2025, Cleveland State Community College celebrated the first graduates of its Logistics & Supply Chain Management program, where students used TRIP: the Thrive Regional Infrastructure Portal, to source real-world, location-based infrastructure data that address freight and transportation challenges in the region. All seven graduates completed internships and secured full-time positions with their host companies by June. With support from Thrive Regional Partnership (Thrive) and the Appalachian Regional Commission, the curriculum, including TRIP technical assistance, will expand into secondary schools and additional colleges across the region, giving more students hands-on experience solving transportation issues. This program is supported in part by a $2.87 million federal grant awarded to Thrive by the Appalachian Regional Commission under the Appalachian Regional Initiative for Stronger Economies (ARISE), which advances large-scale, collaborative economic transformation across the Appalachian region. This federal investment represents 56% of the total $5.13 million project cost of Thrive's Regional Resource Hub — an initiative that expands community leadership, capacity programs, and data resources across the tri-state, greater Chattanooga region.
