Virtualis is the first tour agency in VRChat, a virtual reality social platform that has seen a spike in popularity during the pandemic. Created by Lydia Jessup and Matt Romein as a conceptual experiment in between art and research, Virtualis helps curious travelers to discover the bizarre, technically impressive social worlds of VR. The project was presented at IDFA DocLab 2020, the interactive and immersive program of the International Documentary Festival Amsterdam.
