How Often Should I Change My Reso Heads?

I've always heard & thought that you should replace your reso heads every 6 months or one time for every three times you change your top heads. I was never consistent with that but now, I totally busted that - accidentally! I put these reso heads on this kit in 1993, sold it in 1995 and reacquired it in 2020 and I realized it still had the same reso heads on. These reso heads have been on the bottom of these toms for THIRTY (30) YEARS! Last week I took the heads off to clean it that I found a note I wrote to myself of when to replace the reso heads based off of what I was reading at the time. Myth is busted! After 30 years, these reso still sound as good as any new head! So save your money and ONLY replace them when they actually need it.
