Welcome aboard our 32-foot Westsail as we set sail south from California to Mexico. In this episode we depart in dense fog to round point conception, only to find ourselves in a anchorage far too windy for our liking, and are so forced to push on to Santa Barbara. ==== Our story begins with a Westsail 32 we bought in 2021, not that long after we met and in the midst of a pandemic. We spent several years working hard, and devoting much of the little free time we had preparing the boat for an indefinite adventure. Finally, in 20225, we sold everything we owned, moved aboard, and set out south in search of warmer weather, and hopefully, the adventure of a lifetime. Bryan previously did something like this in 2017, buying a 27-foot sailboat named "Tarka" in the caribbean, sight-unseen, and sailing the boat through the islands and the Panama Canal. This time, there's a little more space, and a much bigger ocean (hopefully) to explore.
