There is legitimate community debate about mass migration and its negative impact, especially if Australian Governments pursue such a policy without taking into account infrastructure needs, housing  and social services and of course, assimilation and social cohesion. This is what Governments in many western countries are ignoring. The question is why Governments would work against the interests of their own citizens in pursuing such reckless policies.  Illegal and refugee immigrant inflows from vastly different cultural backgrounds have caused huge budgetary problems and serious unrest in UK, France, Germany and other European countries.  Indian immigrants are not asylum seekers, most are entrepreneurs or students with high skill levels who do make a significant contribution to our country. Shalini Bhasin migrated to Australia in her early twenties. She is a dedicated community leader and advocate, publicly speaking out in forums, public protests and to all levels of Government.
