When we think of creativity and imagination, most of us think about building, creating, and exploring the parts of our lives that make us happy, excited, and productive individuals. Or with kids, we look at how they express themselves, their development, and how they can communicate outside of words. Rarely do we look at creative imagination as a means of saving lives. Often those who are struggling in life, are stuck in patterns where that part of their lives is suppressed, bruised, or even absent. It’s that very livelihood that can bring extraordinary results that hold people back when it is stifled. By allowing our creative imaginations to be stimulated, the possibilities are endless. We seek new meaning, new purpose, new ideas, new levels of connection, and ultimately new opportunities to feel a sense of belonging that releases us from the bondage of self-sabotage and the feelings of “I am not enough.” Luca's idea challenges the norm that creativity is always the source of happiness. Imagine the four greatest sources of imagination that occur when we are at our darkest moments so that where there is light, there is no longer the existence of such darkness. Perhaps, that is where we start to save lives using a whole new narrative and outlook on art and creative imagination. Luca's idea gives you permission to step out of your box and save your own life through creativity. When we choose to swap out our habitual routines for those that use our imagination and creativity, we can dispel any depression or complacency we might feel, and ignite our passion. When you produce something creative, no matter what the medium or how much experience you have, you begin to restore your self-confidence little by little. Creative imagination gives us something new to focus on and creates a lens through which to process our past experiences so we separate our sense of self-worth from what may have happened to us--channeling our energy into not only healing ourselves but also something that others can benefit from as well.
