I had the honor of recording the Sri Lankan National Anthem at the iconic Berklee PowerStation in New York City, a venue steeped in musical history. Immersed in gratitude, I embraced this moment, recognizing it as a gift from my creator to share my music in such a remarkable space. The inspiration to record the anthem came from Michael Sathasivam, who saw a shorter version I shared on Facebook. From there, meticulous planning ensued, from studio arrangements to attire and video production, culminating in this heartfelt rendition. My aim was to infuse the anthem with devotion, love, and sincerity, akin to expressing affection or offering a prayer in times of need. I envisioned someone far from home, playing this recording on a snowy day, gazing out the window, reminiscing about cherished memories with a bittersweet longing for their homeland, loved ones, and friends. It is my sincere hope that this rendition of the Sri Lankan National Anthem resonates deeply with you, stirring emotions and memories alike.
