Gabriel discusses his experiences as an Honors Computer Science Major at the University of Washington in the 1990's, and why he left tech just before graduation when he realized the route things were going. (He didn't want to help create a world where digital tech ruled people, instead of people ruling tech.) We talk about the extreme importance of logic and rational thinking, and humans' ability to choose our technology. We also discuss the philosophies of technology as a good servant but a bad master, and of "send not for a hatchet to break open an egg." While we talk, our dilute calico cat Psyche hangs out and joins us for the discussion.
