🔥 Markovnikov vs Anti Markovnikov Rule Explained | Alkene Addition Trick for NEET JEE 🚀 Markovnikov Rule Made Easy | Organic Chemistry Shortcut for NEET JEE 🔥 Anti Markovnikov Rule Trick | Hydroboration Reaction Explained for NEET JEE 💥 Markovnikov vs Anti Markovnikov in 10 Minutes | Organic Chemistry Concept for NEET JEE 🧪 Master Markovnikov Rule Fast | Important Alkene Reaction for NEET JEE 🎯 🚀Markovnikov and Anti-Markovnikov Rule | Organic Chemistry for NEET & JEE Understanding how atoms add across double bonds is one of the most important skills in organic chemistry. Two key rules that help predict products in alkene reactions are the Markovnikov rule and the Anti-Markovnikov rule. These rules help determine where hydrogen and other groups attach when reagents add to alkenes. This concept is extremely important for students preparing for Class 11, Class 12, NEET, IIT JEE, GATE, CSIR NET, UGC NET, TRB, SET, CUTE and TIFR examinations. In this lesson we explain the rules, mechanisms, shortcuts and examples so that organic chemistry becomes simple and logical 😎. 1️⃣Introduction to Markovnikov Rule When unsymmetrical reagents add to unsymmetrical alkenes, the addition follows a predictable pattern. This pattern was discovered by the Russian chemist Vladimir Markovnikov. The rule helps determine which carbon atom receives hydrogen and which carbon receives the other substituent. 2️⃣Definition of Markovnikov Rule Markovnikov rule states that during the addition of an unsymmetrical reagent such as hydrogen halide to an unsymmetrical alkene, the hydrogen atom attaches to the carbon that already has more hydrogen atoms while the halide attaches to the carbon with fewer hydrogen atoms. Example Reaction Propene + HBr → 2-bromopropane Hydrogen adds to the carbon with more hydrogen atoms and bromine attaches to the more substituted carbon. 3️⃣Reason for Markovnikov Rule The reaction proceeds through formation of a carbocation intermediate. The most stable carbocation forms during the reaction. Stability order of carbocations is Tertiary Secondary Primary Methyl Because the more substituted carbocation is more stable, the reaction follows Markovnikov orientation. 4️⃣Anti-Markovnikov Rule Sometimes the addition occurs in the opposite direction. In this case hydrogen attaches to the carbon with fewer hydrogen atoms. This phenomenon is called Anti-Markovnikov addition. 5️⃣Definition of Anti-Markovnikov Rule Anti-Markovnikov rule states that in certain reactions the hydrogen atom attaches to the carbon with fewer hydrogen atoms and the other group attaches to the carbon with more hydrogen atoms. 7️⃣Comparison Between the Two Rules Markovnikov addition occurs through carbocation mechanism. Anti-Markovnikov addition usually occurs through radical mechanism or hydroboration mechanism. Markovnikov addition gives product on more substituted carbon. Anti-Markovnikov addition gives product on less substituted carbon. 📌Summary of the Video Markovnikov rule explains how unsymmetrical reagents add to unsymmetrical alkenes based on carbocation stability. Anti-Markovnikov rule describes the opposite orientation seen in hydroboration and radical reactions. Understanding these rules helps predict products of alkene reactions quickly in NEET and JEE exams. 🎓This video is useful for students preparing for Chemistry for IIT JEE, NEET, GATE, CSIR NET, UGC NET, TRB, SET, CUTE and TIFR examinations. 🔑30 Keywords markovnikov rule, anti markovnikov rule, alkene addition reaction, electrophilic addition reaction, hydroboration oxidation reaction, peroxide effect organic chemistry, alkene reaction mechanism, markovnikov orientation reaction, anti markovnikov addition reaction, carbocation stability organic chemistry, organic chemistry name reactions, NEET organic chemistry reactions, JEE organic chemistry reactions, organic chemistry mechanism tricks, reaction prediction organic chemistry, advanced organic chemistry reactions, chemistry mechanism learning, alkene reaction mechanisms, competitive exam chemistry reactions, organic chemistry quick revision, reaction pathway organic chemistry, chemistry concept clarity, organic chemistry study guide, chemistry mechanism tricks, reaction intermediate chemistry, chemistry reaction concepts, organic chemistry preparation, chemistry competitive exams, hydrocarbon addition reactions, organic synthesis reactions 🧪 📢30 Hashtags #MarkovnikovRule #AntiMarkovnikov #OrganicChemistry #NEETChemistry #JEEChemistry #OrganicChemistryMechanism #AlkeneReactions #Hydroboration #ChemistryForNEET #ChemistryForJEE #ChemistryTricks #OrganicChemistryShortcut #ReactionMechanism #ChemistryLecture #ChemistryRevision #ChemistryStudy #GATEChemistry #CSIRNETChemistry #UGCNETChemistry #TRBExam #SETExam #TIFRExam #CUTEExam #CompetitiveExamChemistry #ChemistryConcepts #OrganicChemistryNotes #ChemistryLearning #ChemistryPreparation #ChemistryEducation #ChemistryClass
