Viola, Herbert, and Walter Heisterberg, and Mules, Cole Camp MO

These videos are converted from 8 mm films owned by three brothers, Herbert (wife Viola), Walter, and Emil Heisterberg in the late 1950s and early '60s. The boys lived with their sister Adeline, wife of Rufus Balke, and their mother Lizzie Heisterberg nee Kipp at the family farm on Williams Creek southwest of Cole Camp, Missouri. Two of the brothers served in WWII - Herbert served in the European Theater, and Walter was a tank commander in the Pacific Theater. Emil worked the farm and amassed an incredible arrowhead collection, which upon his passing, was sold to an anonymous buyer. Much of these videos were shot in Versailles, Missouri as Walter worked there after the war, some are on the family farm, and others - who knows; please comment if you recognize people, places, or things. - CKH03May2025
