Monitor Audio’s Bronze 50 7G stand-mounted speakers mark the seventh generation of this long-running and much-loved compact design — and they arrive with a host of thoughtful upgrades. This time around, Monitor Audio has fitted a larger 152mm aluminium/magnesium C-CAM mid/bass driver (up from 127mm) that now includes a beefier voice coil, larger magnets and an improved spider assembly for better control, dynamics and power handling. A newly designed 25mm gold-dome C-CAM tweeter sits behind the company’s fresh UD waveguide, engineered to deliver a wider, more even soundstage with reduced distortion.
